Thai Agricultural Delegation Visits TRICAAS for Research Collaboration

April 4, 2023 – A delegation from Thailand’s Agriculture Research Development Agency (ARDA), led by Chairman Chavalit Chookajorn, visited TRICAAS to strengthen agricultural research ties. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Mingzhe Yao, Deputy Director General of the institute, who highlighted shared goals in value addition of tea and fruit resources, genetic breeding, and mechanized processing of tea.

Both parties discussed advancing joint projects in crop innovation and vocational training. Chairman Chookajorn praised the institute’s expertise in technology-driven poverty reduction, urging accelerated agreement formalization. Yao emphasized synergies between China’s research advancements and Thailand’s agricultural ecosystems.

The delegation toured demonstration tea plantations, the institute’s achievement exhibition hall, and the Longguan Company’s facilities. Plans to finalize a cooperation framework were confirmed, with exchange of visits to be prioritized within the year.
