Turkish Delegation Deepens Tea Research Collaboration in Hangzhou

HANGZHOU, October 18, 2025 - A six-member delegation from Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University (RTEU), led by Vice Rector Prof. Mete AVCI, conducted a research visit to TRICAAS, advancing bilateral cooperation in tea science and industry innovation.

Prof. YAO Mingzhe, DDG of the institute, welcomed the delegation, outlining the institute’s research scope and recent advancements. The visitors toured key facilities including the demonstration plantation for new cultivars, laboratory of sensory evaluation, training centre, achievements exhibition room, and the Hangzhou Longguan Industry Co., Ltd.

The itinerary also featured field studies at large-scale tea enterprises, processing factories, and new-style tea beverage producers, clarifying priorities for future collaboration.

Since signing a memorandum of understanding in May 2025, TRICAAS and RTEU have launched fruitful initiatives in academic exchange, talent training, joint publications, and cultural programs. The latest visit lays a solid foundation for advancing these collaborations into practical applications.
