Researches on Chemical Ecology of Insects in Tea Garden

    Great progress was made in the study of chemical ecology of insects in tea gardens. The tri-trophic communication mechanisms among tea plant–insect pests–natural enemies were investigated. These included the chemical and physical communication among tea plant - tea geometrid–natural enemies ,tea plant-tea aphid-natural enemies and tea plant-tea leafhopper-predatory spider. Sex pheromone lures of tea tussock and tea geometrid were developed and used to control tea pests.
