Director of Sri Lanka Tea Research Institute Visits Institute

Mahasen Ranathunga, Director of the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka, visited our institute on November 6th for an exchange of ideas and collaboration. DDG Yao Mingzhe welcomed the visitors and introduced the overview and international cooperation efforts of our institute.

Visit to the experimental tea plantation

During the visit, Ranathunga toured the China Tea Science Society, the institute’s achievement showroom, and lab facilities, where scientists and officials from our institute had in-depth discussions on deepening institutional cooperation, strengthening talent training and tea culture exchanges, and expanding collaboration among tea-producing countries under multilateral frameworks such as FAO-IGG with the visitors.

Ranathunga highlighted the long history of cooperation between the tea research institutes of China and Sri Lanka, noting the close exchanges between researchers and the wide range of cooperation in multiple fields. He expressed the commitment to continuing comprehensive cooperation with our institute.
